Jennifer works with two organizations within CHSGa. She has been with GA Med Group since 2016 and Affinis Hospice since 2017. She works closely with Dr. Blake to care for patients in the NW region in SNF, ALF, and home settings. In addition to earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Shorter University, she attended Kennesaw State University and received her Bachelors as well as Masters degrees in Nursing and has been certified as a FNP through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2009. Prior to her role with GA Med Group, she worked for several years in pediatrics, an indigent clinic, and ENT. She is a member of GAPNA, AANP, and GAMDA. Her professional interests include geriatrics, palliative care, and hospice. She resides in Rome, GA with her husband and children and enjoys working on their farm.
Lisa Clark – Nurse Practitioner
Lisa Clark has been married 45 years, has two sons, and two grandchildren who are her world. She cherishes her time with her family.
Lisa earned her Associates Degree in 1988 from Augusta College and then worked in the Burn Unit, Dialysis, Home Health, Director of Nursing for 30-bed Med Surgical floor and a six bed ICU. She later became a Director for Pediatric Home Care for special needs children.
She made a decision to further her nursing degree and then obtained her BSN from the University of Phoenix and then on to Walden University where she earned her Master’s Science in Nursing with specialty in Family Nurse Practitioner. Lisa has been a practicing Nurse Practitioner since 2014. She has worked for a total of 35 years in the field of nursing.
Lisa has worked with GA MedGroup for eight years. She serves on the Board of Director’s for the McDuffie County Health Department, is a member of the Georgia Medical Director’s Association (GAMDA), and the American Medical Director’s Association (AMDA).
She is a devoted advocate for the patient’s and her love for her work shows in all that she does.
Kenya Fields – Nurse Practitioner
Kenya Fields, has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2020. Kenya has honed her skills across diverse healthcare specialties, including Nephrology, Hospice, and Nursing Home settings. Beyond her professional achievements, Kenya is a proud mother of three children and is celebrating her 8th wedding anniversary this year. She's an active member of her community, contributing to service projects and working with a local youth football team. Her faith finds expression in her regular attendance at the Free Providence Baptist Church in Vienna, Ga. We're thrilled to welcome Kenya to GMG.
Marie R. Nozil – Nurse Practitioner
Marie R. Nozil, born in Haiti and raised in Brooklyn, New York, is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner specializing in long-term care for the geriatric population. She earned both her BSN and MSN from Chamberlain University College of Nursing. Marie's career began in hospital and acute care settings as a Registered Nurse before she transitioned to long-term care, where she found her true calling. Her passion for elder care started in her teenage years and has continued to drive her professional journey.
Marie's commitment to her work is matched by her zest for life. She cherishes spending quality time with her fiancé, grandchildren, family, and friends. An avid traveler, she also enjoys exploring new destinations, cooking, exercising, watching movies, and listening to a diverse range of music. Marie's dedication to improving the lives of the elderly not only fulfills her professional aspirations but also deeply enriches her personal life.
Amy McCord – Nurse Practitioner
Amy McCord has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2012. Previous to earning her Masters in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, she worked at the McDuffie County Health Department for 12 years as a Public Health RN. She earned her Bachelors in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia and a Bachelors in Health Education from the University of Georgia.
During her time as an NP she has worked in Private practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner and also served as a professor of nursing for several years. She enjoys teaching and has been a preceptor for many new NPs. Geriatrics has been a passion of hers for several years. She enjoys taking care of and visiting with her patients.
Amy is certified in wound care, and has certifications as an American Cancer Society Smoking Cessation Facilitator, Certified Health Education Specialists, along with Basic and Advanced Disaster Life Support Certifications. She was a local “Giving your Best” award winner and Regional Jefferson Award winner for community service. She was also voted “Nurse of the Year” in McDuffie County.
When Amy is not at work, she enjoys traveling with her family, doing home projects, gardening and painting. She has been married to her High school sweetheart, Chris, for over 25 years. They have two sons who are in college at Clemson and UGA.
Lelola McGirt – Nurse Practitioner
Lelola McGirt, NP, is a dedicated healthcare professional with a diverse background in nursing. Starting her career as a Registered Nurse in 2019, she has since developed an expansive skill set through her work in Nursing Homes. In 2021, Lelola broadened her professional horizons by becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Known for her team-building skills, strong work ethic, and adaptability, Lelola has demonstrated an aptitude for learning new processes and providing exceptional patient care. She aligns strongly with the values of GA MedGroup and is committed to maintaining the high standards of service our patients expect and deserve. As Lelola joins GMG, we are excited to witness the positive impact she will undoubtedly make in our patient. She resides in Macon, GA with her spouse and son. Her hobbies include going to church, listening to music, dancing, and spending time with friends and family.
Leslie Miller – Nurse Practitioner
Leslie Miller is a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner with over 13 years of healthcare experience. She completed her Master of Nursing degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2010. Leslie’s passion lies in providing exceptional care to the geriatric population. She firmly believes in promoting the well-being and enhancing the quality of life for her elderly patients. Leslie’s extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge allow her to develop personalized treatment plans, offer preventive care, and manage complex medical conditions effectively. With a nurturing and empathetic approach, she strives to build strong relationships with her patients, ensuring their comfort and dignity are always prioritized.
Rebecca Scruggs – Nurse Practitioner
Rebecca Scruggs, FNP is a dedicated healthcare professional with a diverse background in nursing. She began her career with Ethica in 1991. She completed her ASN from Dalton State in 2005 and continued to work within the organization. In 2016 she expanded her professional horizons completing her MSN at Southern Adventist University. Rebecca’s passion is providing exceptional care to the geriatric population. She strives to make a difference in patient’s healthwhile optimistically improving their quality of life. Outside of work she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
Kimberly Sheffield – Nurse Practitioner
Specializing in skilled nursing and long-term care, Kim is an advanced nurse practitioner.
She has accumulated more than twenty years of experience in the healthcare industry, during which she has developed and refined her skills in overseeing intricate patient cases with a particular emphasis on adult-geriatric populations. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Middle Georgia State University and is dual certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center and American Association of Critical Care Nurses. With a strong dedication to enhancing patient outcomes, she consistently incorporates the most recent evidence-based practices into her approach to care. Outside of her professional life, Kim enjoys attending church, cooking, gardening, and fishing. She finds that these hobbies strengthen her bonds with her family and friends and offer a revitalizing respite from the demands of her profession.
Luella Wheeler-Ikuesan – Nurse Practitioner
Luella Wheeler-Ikuesan, a native and lifelong resident of Georgia, epitomizes the essence of a true Georgia Peach. With a robust career spanning over two decades, she proudly serves as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Georgia Med Group, LLC. Luella began her journey in healthcare as a Registered Nurse, dedicating 16 years before advancing her education at Georgia State University, where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practice. Inducted into the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau in 1997, she remains an active and engaged member.
Luella is certified by both the American Nurse Credentialing Center and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is an active participant in various professional organizations. Over the past 26 years, her roles have been diverse, including positions in Correctional Health, Primary Care, Internal Medicine, and Geriatrics. She has also contributed significantly to a Substance Abuse Residential Treatment Program for professionals and women with children and served as a Chief Nurse Practitioner.
Luella's approach to healthcare is holistic, emphasizing the importance of treating the "whole body" and recognizing the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and spiritual health. She holds a special place in her heart for the frail and elderly, vowing to end her career serving this population. Throughout her career, her goal has been to treat every individual with respect and provide the highest quality of care—a commitment she plans to uphold throughout her professional journey.
